Sometimes Great Opportunities Fall Into Your Lap

     So after I made the decision to stop and take control of my life, (which is the scary thing ever) I had to come up with  plan to how do I get my apparel onto the web and ready for people to purchase. First, I was told that the website Etsy, was he best way to go. So I started my site and realize that it was not for me because I did not have money to pay for the fees that Etsy has to start my business. So I decided to google ways to make to money working from home. I tumbled on a website called Postmark. It was an Application where you can buy, and sell new and gently used items and all you need to do was download the App to your iphone or Android. So I did. It was the best think I could have done. I started off selling items from my own close. So that I can buy items that I need to get my business of the ground. I am so grateful for the app because it has given me the ability to start my business with a little bit of help.

Another Step Towards My Dream

     Making the decision to give up all you know when it comes to getting a steady paycheck is very difficult. First, because you become so use to working for someone and getting paid for it. Second, you know where and when you will receive money. Finally, you can get comfortable not trying 

to control your own life. But, what many fail to realize is that if a manager of a company decides they no longer need you, you are out of that comfortable life that you have come accustom to.

Yes, Paychecks are great, but what if one day they stop coming...

So why not take control of your life and ensure that you can never be replaced or have your comfortable lifestyle ruined because you no longer of the income? That is the exact question I had to ask myself and I realized that I don't want to put my livelihood in the hands of anyone else but myself.  

The Start of this beautiful Venture!!!

 

    I have been making clothes and doing alterations for some time now. I have had many people ask me why I don't I start my own business in the fashion industry. My answer was always, I don't have time and I don't know if I am good enough. Sad I know.. Well years later, I was not enjoying my job the way I use to and this year I took my first trip to Africa. The experience changed my mind and made me realize that I am more than just an employee and I am in control of my future. Observing how hard the Togolese people worked to live, made me want more for myself. Because if they can do I with very little, I have no excuse not to try. I am so grateful to be a part of a group of strong, dependent people.
